Intensive training and personal coaching in Beijing from 18-28 Oct 2012
‘Emerging Voices’ participants will benefit from didactic coaching to help you prepare to present your abstract and oral presentation at the Symposium Preconference and the Symposium. You are also offered courses on issues related to health systems researchand skills building workshops on scientific presentation and scientific writing in English, with special attention for non-native speakers preparing to write and present in English.
Participation in the Young Health Professionals Pre-conference in Beijing on 29-30 Oct 2012
Open to both Emerging Voices and other young health professionals
The week prior to the Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, the Emerging Voices will be invited to present their work at theAntwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine-Emerging Voices Pre-conference, in a variety of scientific formats ranging from small group sessions, fish bowl sessions, oral poster presentations, to debates between scientists and large auditorium presentations. They will receive constructive feedback from senior scientists and from fellow emerging voices and other participants.
The preconference is open to all young health professionals and researchers who have a keen interest to share their work with peers and senior experts. We are looking for synergies with other groups of young health professionals.

Based on your motivation and availability, we will confirm your registration for the preconference. Some travel grants will also be awarded, which will be explicitly mentioned in the acceptance letter, while others will be asked to look for their own funding.
Participation in the Global Symposium in Beijing from 31 Oct-3 Nov 2012
Selected Emerging Voices will participate in the Global Symposium on Health Systems Research and where possible be invited to present their work. The Symposium also offers a variety of capacity strengthening and peer exchange opportunities.
Emerging Voices IN 2012
The Second Global Symposium on Health Systems Research will take place early November 2012 in Beijing. In view of the success of the Emerging Voices 2010 (EV2010) the WHO Alliance of Health Policy and Systems Research encourages an Emerging Voices 2012 track. The selection process is integrated in the Second Global Symposium on Health Systems Research call for abstracts that will take place in Beijing in early November 2012.
Once again we count on you, the emerging health systems researchers from the Global South to make a blast on the global stage.
The ‘Emerging Voices’ abstract submission is now closed. More than 300 abstracts have been received and an international scientific committee is now carefully screening thesubmissions. The list of selected Emerging Voices as well as the awarded travel grants will be announced by July 2012.
Those selected will be invited to participate in the full Emerging Voices programmethat will be organized in Beijing, jointly with Peking University Health Science Center, and summarized below.
